Instakit:
COMB
This project was the culmination of ten weeks worth of work. At its core this project was a dissection of an everyday object, the humble comb. My job was to break down the comb into its parts: what it looked like, felt like, and what it represented. This project was an exercise in meaning and metaphors.
After analyzing it for all it was worth, my ten slide ‘Instakit’ became a film noir. I went at the project like it was an old noir detective movie, combing through all the evidence and laying it all out in front of me.

This project was a long process of creation as well as ideation. I thought of my theme, drew all the illustrations (besides the jaw and chair), and put everything into an order I thought told  the best story. I really wanted this piece to feel cinematic not just look like it, and I think it’s successful in that.
